For the first 50 years of my life, my perfectionist self mistakenly believed it was all about knowing more, getting it right, planning, attempting to prevent bad things from happening, and keeping all of my chicks in a row. It took me this long to discover that the JOURNEY is all that matters. This quote from Gilda Radner sums it all up:

"I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.

Oh, What a Weekend!

Weekends in our house tend to be pretty laid back lately.
But last weekend our house came alive with activity,
and
IT WAS WONDERFUL.

The main event was to celebrate Annie's 24th birthday.

In addition, circumstances also brought
other friends and loved ones to our home
to gather around our table
and
to enjoy each other's company.

On Friday,  we welcomed my niece, Mikey, and her husband, Lance,
along with their close friends, Molly & Tyler.  Kaylee was visiting
from Utah.  Mel, Josh, and Emily are just part of our family.

Saturday morning began with a private yoga session with Mel.
This was followed by lunch at our house and a few
competitive games of duck pin bowling!

After dinner at the Flatbread Company,
we headed home for Annie's birthday celebration.

Vance broke out his grade school trumpet for an
unforgettable version of "Happy Birthday".

There were many lovely and thoughtful gifts, but none
could compare with the hand-drawn piece of art by
Vincent Vance Gogh Vance!

I want to wish Annie a very happy 24th birthday!

I also want to say that
Vance and I feel so privileged to be surrounded these
happy and loving young couples who have so much
ahead of them in their life journey.

We hope to be there with you and for you
for many years to come!
